  1. Thank you for reading the newsletter this month and this year. This month’s question is: what is your favourite holiday gift to give another engineer/geoscientist/technician/technologist?

  2. Everyone is so different, but a Raspberry Pi is always a great gift for anyone who likes tinkering. There are just so many different diy projects you can do with one, and you can never have enough of them!

  3. Favourite gift to give to another engineer is always Lego, Usually a technic set since they usually have parts that move, and cause a motion to occur.

    1. Agreed. On a similar note, I like giving the lego flash drives, but I couldn’t find them this year. Thank you for the comment, Asher.

  4. Cassidy Silbernagel

Lego, every time. Not only fun to put together, but so many themes that you can customize it to the interests of the person you’re giving it to.

  5. My go to gift is always board games. Lately, I’ve been playing Tapestry and Terraforming Mars – which have a lot of great links to engineering.

  6. Humayun Khalid Kathuria

My favourite holiday gift to give another aspiring engineer/geoscientist/technician/technologist is to purchase him access to PPE exam prep course from this website.

  7. Something like a joke mug or coaster. I’ve received a few myself and they’re great. Also, anything like a unique fidget toy, gyroscope or “perpetual motion” toy.

  8. I like to give a seasonal gadget (every year there are 2 or 3 promoted products at very low cost, that some years ago would have been very expensive). Happy holidays!

  9. For work, a laser distance measure, great tool that engineers of most disciplines could use. For out of work, gift card for booze, since most engineers I know also like to drink!
