    1. I would like to create a series of YouTube episodes to show young girls how to play and program a popular video game that is geared toward boys (or the notion by many is that it is geared toward boys). The game involves an application of STEM skills and too many girls are missing an opportunity to play this engaging and stimulating engineering-minded game.

      1. Nice initiative Erica. Once your channel is up and running, please let me know so that I can link to it in a future blog post.

    2. Hi Simone,

Thank you so much for the engineering newsletters. They are packed with highly useful resources and also provide me with a lot of inspiration.

My new year’s resolution is to attain my only pending requirement to become a professional engineer which is to gain Canadian work experience. I am a chemical engineering graduate from McGill university and I am vigorously trying to get into an E.I.T position in the process industry.

      Thanks a lot!

      Best regards,
      Lalita

    3. This year I want to mentor a Young Engineer. I know the power of this in someone’s life. I was fortunate to have been mentored when I had just came to Canada, that made a huge difference on my life as a new immigrant and engineer looking for a new life here.

  1. My one big goal for 2021 is to finish AND submit my P.Eng application this year! My goal is to begin writing my competencies, have them peer-reviewed, and click the submit button by end of summer.

  2. My new year’s resolution is to pass the PPE exam this January on the first attempt with flying colors! Send some luck!
P.S. I am getting real help from the PPE course, Gavin. Thanks for putting together such wonderful content esp. the cheatsheets.

  3. My new year resolution is to learn all the new technology developed as a consequence to COVID19, and how it will impact new designs, production and distribution or products.
