- Lisa MacCumber, P.Eng., of Mississauga, ON was named Member of the PEO Order of Honour in recognition of her work in promoting a diverse and inclusive profession for female engineers.
- Zetian Mi, specialist in computer and electrical engineering published a paper about a device capable of offering a clean source of hydrogen using just water and sunlight. The device is made from silicon and gallium nitride, a semiconductor often used in LEDs and works through an artificial photosynthesis process.
- The Snoozle is a “snooze proof” alarm clock designed to jumpstart your day and help you keep a consistent sleep schedule. The alarm can only be turned off when placed on the device’s base found wherever you want to start your morning routine, forcing you to get out of bed to turn it off.
- The Tennibot is the first ever robotic tennis ball collector that saves coaches and players valuable time on the court by eliminating the tiresome task of collecting balls.
- The Herbot is a gardening robot that takes care of your plants in any climate or season by automatically controlling water intake, light, and other elements through an app on your phone.
