- Mechanical engineer Dr. Edward Cyr, is the first Fellow of the McCain PostDoctoral in innovation awarded by the University of New Brunswick. He's studying the importance of artificial intelligence and additive manufacturing in the evolution of printed stainless steels and aluminum alloys among others materials.
- Ghada Koleilat, an assistant professor of electrical engineering at Dalhousie University, is researching a special spray that contains microscopic carbon nanotubes with photovoltaic cells. The goal is to create wearable solar panels or to provide a portable and instant power source.
qBiq it's a minimally sized cube that was build to help caregivers of seniors to be able to know what's happening all over the house, using a Wi-Fi sensor that measures, monitors and reports real-time changes using an app that can be accessed by several people.
- ExoLife Finder is a telescope that's going to look for life on nearby exoplanets and search for some Earth-like planets. From the Atacama Desert in Chile, this telescope with a total diameter of 25 meters, will use a unique software algorithm created to map continents, oceans, and life.
- CorSense measures heart rate variability by attaching to your finger sending data to a smartphone app. Daily 2 minutes readings can help you manage your stress load, identify health risks and provide warning signs of changes in your body and mind.
