Since the May 2020 exam has been cancelled, this is a predicted date for the December exams. Another exam period may be added in between, depending on the progress of the pandemic.

About: The Probability and Statistics exam is written nationally for aspiring civil, electrical, mechanical engineers and a few other disciplines. The codes for this exam is:
- 04-BS-2 (or you may see it like YY-BS-2, BS-2)
The exam tests candidate’s understanding and knowledge of probability and statistics.
Format: 2-hour long, closed book exam. From the questions that are asked in the exam, only five need to be attempted.
Dates written: The exam is offered twice every year in the months of May and December.
Approved aids: One hand-written information sheet (8.5" x 11''), filled on both sides and an approved Sharp or Casio calculator are permitted.
Akhtar Hossain obtained his PhD in civil engineering from Carleton University in 2006. He has over 25 years of practical experience in Civil Engineering with major emphasis in Transportation Engineering and Planning and structural engineering. He has led a variety of engineering projects with different levels of complexity. Dr Akhtar Hossain’s experiences include consulting, construction, and government sectors. He also actively involved in teaching in both undergraduate and graduate levels since he graduated in 1989. He is well known as a moderator in learning.
The recommended textbooks for this exam are:
- Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists, R.E. Walpole, R.H. Myers and S.L. Meyers, latest edition. Prentice-Hall.
