About: The Geotechnical Design exam is written nationally for aspiring civil/structural engineers.  The code for this exam is:

  • Civil - 16-Civ-B3 (or you may see it like YY-Civ-B3, Civ-B3).
  • Structural - 07-Str-B1 (or you may see it like YY-Str-B1, Str-B1).

This exam is a comprehensive test of your knowledge of geotechnical design.  Out of the eight questions that are asked in the exam, only six needs to be attempted (choice is given among limited/specified problems).

Format: 3-hour long, open book exam. Out of the nine questions that are asked in the exam, only the first four answers of section A and the first three of section B will be considered.

Dates written: The exam is offered twice every year in the months of May and December.

Approved aids:

  • Any non-communicating calculator is permitted, however, the type of used calculator must be indicated in the exam workbook.

His master research evaluated the hydraulic performance of compacted clay liners under different exposure conditions in landfills environment. Abdulrahman has been successful in publishing 10 peer-reviewed technical papers in different journals and conference proceedings. In addition, he was selected as the best teaching assistant in the department for the year of 2016 beside his possessing of 5 other prestigious awards.
