Stay informed and impress your colleagues with your new-found knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tEngineers Making Headlines<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engineer <a href=\"http:\/\/nationalpost.com\/pmn\/news-pmn\/canada-news-pmn\/canadian-medical-aid-group-sets-up-solar-powered-hospital-after-years-of-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Talal Al Do<\/a> started working with the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations in 2013, just after graduating from U of T, in order to make Syria\u2019s hospitals exclusively run on solar energy. Due to a weakened electricity system, the hospitals were running on diesel generators but the fuel was not always available. In March 2017, one hospital serving over 70,000 people per year started to operate on solar energy thanks to Al Do and UOSSM\u2019s efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Aerospace engineer <a href=\"http:\/\/saudigazette.com.sa\/article\/524416\/SAUDI-ARABIA\/Saudi-rocket-scientist-aims-for-the-moon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mishaal Alshemimry<\/a> founded a rocket company aiming to make space more accessible by producing innovative and low-cost launch vehicles. MISHAAL Aerospace, based in Miami, Florida, wants to be able to achieve further strives in space like sending small satellites and mine the moon delivering samples back to Earth. Dar Al-Hekma University awarded Alshemimry for inspiring Saudi women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\t\t\tCrowdfunding Engineering\/Technology Campaigns <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MakerSpot, a company that has a design centre and sourcing teams in Canada founded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/makerspot\/raspberry-pi-zero-docking-hub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pi Zero USB Docking Hub<\/a>, which lets you add audio, network, communication and power features to your Raspberry Pi Zero without any soldering needed: 5 USB data and charging ports, 1 RJ45 Ethernet port, 1 audio jack for both recording and playback and 1 micro USB port for power input.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ksr-ugc.imgix.net\/assets\/019\/215\/515\/c2050ef3f73a6e9b57c25a0d967d3189_original.gif?w=680&#038;fit=max&#038;v=1510652603&#038;auto=format&#038;gif-q=50&#038;q=92&#038;s=a7554bcc357300b89e48e14844e830e0\" width=\"435\" height=\"331\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1886510071\/ar-for-everyone-augmented-mixed-virtual-reality-he\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AR for Everyone<\/a> is a multi-purpose Augmented\/Mixed\/Virtual Reality, foldable and lightweight low-cost smartphone headset, with an announced $25 retail cost. It uses innovative optics and technology that minimizes the forces and enables a full high-resolution screen. Viewing the real world without camera distortion enhances safety and situational awareness, making interactions safe and free of disorienting artifacts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/oliversun\/inrigo-camera-bag-intelligently-waterproof\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inrigo<\/a> is a completely waterproof camera-carrying backpack with a Bluetooth monitor that alerts you when critical levels of moisture or a humidity jump are detected, as it can destroy your camera equipment. The interior is fully insulated from outside humidity thanks to the use of a hybrid between plastic and soft silicon with an airtight zipper, complying with IP78 waterproof standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>What technology or gadget are you currently enjoying and would recommend to other aspiring and licensed engineers?
