Licensing Courses by Province & Territory in Canada
Engineers in Canada are licensed by provincial and territorial regulators. Each regulator has its own rules and timelines, but most follow the same broad pattern: academic assessment, four years of experience documented through an experience record or Competency-Based Assessment (CBA), and a professional practice exam
This page brings those pieces together in one place. Choose your province or territory to see:
- Which regulator you’ll apply to (PEO, APEGA, EGBC, etc.).
- The main steps to licensure in that jurisdiction.
- Where our NPPE, CBA and CPD courses fit into your path.
- Note: Regulators are the final authority on licensing. Our pages summarize the process to help you plan your studies and point you to the right courses
