About Practice PPE Exams
Canada's Licensing Advisor

Practice PPE Exams was founded in 2012 in Canada’s National Capital Region by Gavin Simone, P.Eng. (AB), LEED AP.

We saw the same problem over and over again:

engineers weren’t failing because they lacked experience — they were failing because the licensing process itself is confusing, fragmented, and constantly changing.
Our goal:
Make Canadian engineering licensure clear, structured, and doable.
Our mission
To help aspiring engineers achieve licensure sooner — so they can build their careers, support their families, and contribute to safer communities and better infrastructure.

We support engineers at every major stage of the Canadian licensing journey:

Our courses, tools, and AI-assisted workflows help applicants:

Independent from Regulators — Built for Applicants

Practice PPE Exams is independent from all Canadian engineering regulators and associations. We do not evaluate, approve, or decide outcomes. We prepare applicants to meet regulatory standards clearly and effectively.
""
We explain how assessments really work
""
We focus on the applicant, not the regulator
""
We design tools to cut risk and wasted effort
Recognized in the 2026 EdTech Breakthrough Awards – Test Prep Innovation of the Year

Since 2012, Practice PPE Exams has helped 25,750+ engineers move through the licensing process faster and with greater clarity.

Why Practice PPE Exams exists

The Canadian licensing system wasn’t designed as a learning process – it was designed as an evaluation process. In practice, this means applicants are often treated as if they already know things like:
Most engineers are never taught this.
Practice PPE Exams exists to teach you these expectations in plain language and turn them into clear steps you can follow.
