Q1: What trends do you predict will shape the future of the engineering industry in the next five years?
my answer: over the next five years, engineering will focus a lot on sustainability, with a big push toward greener materials, renewable energy, and more eco-friendly designs. AI and machine learning will also keep growing, helping engineers create smarter systems and predict issues before they happen. Industry 5.0 is on the rise too, blending advanced automation with a human touch to deliver more personalized and ethical solutions. We’ll also see more smart infrastructure and IoT innovations, like smarter cities and connected systems. It’s an exciting time, but it means engineers will need to keep learning and adapting to stay ahead.
I think that AI will play a complimentary role in engineering. We will always need licensed engineers, however AI can help us be more efficient, especially in arduous or monotonous tasks.
