Thank you for reading. This month’s question is, what electrical/electronics need repairing at your work or home?
With having young kids, I always have some electronics at home to repair. This can range from toys to other larger devices (3d printer, computer, laptop, …).
Generally home wiring projects, however last week I replaced the motor capacitor on my garage door opener for $30, as compared to a $400 opener.
Tim, thank you for the comment. Great work on the repair! Reliable power is good to have and prevents heavy door lifting.
My outdoor bulb switch where my Christmas light plug-in.
Thanks for posting article. I got chance to have my hands dirty recently, repaired my Hamilton beach juicer that started malfunctioning after ~3 years, found loose contacts that required to be re-tight. Other electronics, that often take maintenance /attention is my portable AC, table-fan, toys, vacuum.
Gotta install new rain sensor in my car.
There are honestly always a lot of electronic items that keep requiring to be fixed quite often at my home. I have this grinding machine that stopped working recently and I got to fix that.
I need to repair my 3D printer and have been looking at doing some small wiring projects (lights and potentially mini smoke machine) to add to props and decorations around the house.
My guitar’s internals often need repair after lugging them around!
Patrick, thank you for the comment. That reminds me to investigate the crackling sound from my guitar—likely the jackplug or pickup.
With having young kids, I always have some electronics at home to repair. This can range from toys to other larger devices (3d printer, computer, laptop, …).
I require a TV repair at my house as the buttons are no longer functional, and it only responds to the remote control.
I am repairing and replacing parts for my department’s air quality test kit.
My bathroom fan keeps working even when switched off on the wall. That definitely needs some repairs…
I would like to have it to keep practicing my DIY and fix my electronics. Thanks
Hey, I would be interested in the soldering Iron to replace some of the faulty pots on my DJM 800 mixer 🙂
I inherited an old tube radio from my great grandfather and one of the tasks to help make it work again is to replace 20+ capacitors with some more modern ones to prevent fire issues along with fixing a mechanical linkage to the antenna
Definitely electronic toys my kids ask me to fix. This tool could me solve those loose wiring issues.
Usually TV remote, but sometimes electric shaver, etc.
Kid toys!! I guess most of us have a long queue of broken down toys to repair ♂️♂️
I’ve got to build out my smart home. I’m trying to figure out why my temp sensors keep disconnecting from the zwave antenna. other than that, trying to build a security camera system and some automations into a cohesive environment.
Several DIY projects and electronics that can be repaired. the latest one is my old sound system what has been with me since university
Kids’ toys are the number one repair project at home, but kitchen stuff and remote controls are also in need of repair from time to time.
