What activity are you looking forward to the most when social distancing has been lifted? For me, it’s getting outside and golfing. There are lots of engineering principles that apply in the game – such as the dynamics of a swing or the transfer of energy from the club to the ball (Newton’s 3rd law).

  2. What activity are you looking forward to the most when social distancing has been lifted? Back to weight lifting at the gym.

Whenever we lift weights, we are exerting force against the barbell. If Newton was in the gym he would describe the physics in terms of force using his 2nd Law of Motion via the equation f = ma, or put differently, force is equal to mass multiplied by acceleration. To increase force (or destroy/rebuild more muscle fibres), we must either increase mass or acceleration (or both).

  3. What activity are you looking forward to the most when social distancing has been lifted?

I would go to the lake at the nearby forest conservatory along with my kids and observe water waves and enjoy sunshine.

I would do my best to observe how breeze pushes water waves back and forth, observing the crest falling and trough rising due to gravity pull. May be this would qualify as lazy afternoon physics 🙂

  4. I’m eagerly looking forward to travelling to scenic places as it will certainly help to reinvigorate.

I am excited for the economy to reopen so that more jobs are posted so that I may find work.

  6. I will be excited to build more engineering solution with keeping conditions of current lockdown such online shopping for grocery using drone, platform to connect people to get help and provide help and more engineering solution in health care industry such as involvement of robots and more facility or vaccine production to diminish the pandemic in the world.

  7. Personally, I am looking forward to go hiking/camping trips when the restrictions are lifted. For may family members and friends who lost their jobs, I am looking forward to more job openings as the restrictions are lifted in various sectors.

  8. Eagerly waiting for Kayaking in Ottawa river once lockdown get lifted; wandering in water for longest time would definitely something to crave for.

P.S. Applying Archimedes buoyancy principle in this Kayaking exploration. 😉
